I purchased 2 of these last year at separate times of the year and they both arrived perfectly intact. You should carefully remove it as it comes in 2 boxes with tightly molded styrofoam and packing paper. It makes a great addition to your Halloween display or for a different display touch all year round. I would not recommend leaving it outdoors for a long period as it is made of resin which is more of an indoor material. It was also a huge hit for Halloween.

I requested the skel-e-dog for Christmas to go with my skele-gnomes, which are great. When I opened the box the spine was broken, and now replacements are backordered, probably because so many are arriving broken. I have little faith that the replacement(s) won't be broken, as well, especially after seeing other reviews. To add insult to injury, USPS returned the package, stating that the "prepaid" return label was invalid, and I'm out $17 to return the thing!

We were eager to have the skel-e-dog keep our skel-e-gnomes company in the garden! Unfortunately he did not "arrive alive" (not that he was supposed to)but seeing the damaged condition he was in, we figured he would NOT do well outside. Disappointed :(

Don't order this!! Really cute idea, BUT, the material it is made of must be REALLY cheap as it keeps breaking in transit, even when properly packed for shipping. I have tried to order this twice and each time pieces have been snapped off. The customer service person even told me they were checking the warehouse for damaged ones. Maybe in the past the skel-e-dog was substantial, but the new ones are really cheap.

I have always enjoyed the odd and unusual and this dog certainly caught my eye. I knew from the measurements given in the item description that he was large enough not to be missed in my flower garden too. He arrived last week and I was thrilled. He's heavy, big and despite not having a face, he's adorable! Details are fantastic and he seems quite well made. The best part? He doesn't shed! Highly recommended this little guy for your home, office or garden. Just thrilled with him!
